The Department for International Trade (DIT), in conjunction with the Great British Food Programme, are bringing up to 50 global Commercial Trade Officers direct to your screens with our first-ever virtual Meet the Market Expert event. 

Eager to meet ambitious South West of England food and drink producers, the Commercial Trade Officers can advise you on your target market suitability and will be able to make introductions with the buyers and distributors that matter. 

Over 500 meetings will be held over the course of the day and you’ll be able to request bookings with an Officer at a time that suits you. Various countries and markets will be represented throughout the day for what promises to be an action-packed event where new, prosperous relationships will be made.

This is an exclusive opportunity for South West of England companies to showcase their products and assess their potential in new markets, at a time when new business is vital for all. The Commercial Trade Officers will be looking for the next 'big' thing of the highest quality, which offers uniqueness in the marketplace. Following the event it will be their job to identify and generate demand for your brand in their home market. 

How does it work? 

To make sure that you get the most out of the day we have set up this booking portal to allow you to review and request meetings with your preferred Commercial Trade Officers. The system allows all participants to request and receive meeting submissions; with all face-to-face virtual meetings taking place on the platform via the in-house video chat feature. 

Meetings will be approved or rejected based on whether your product is relevant for the target market. You can also decide whether to hold a meeting with a Commercial Trade Officer or not. This process ensures that the day is optimised, allowing you to meet suitable Officers that already have an interest in your produce. 

Once your registration has been approved, we will send you some further guidance on how to use the platform and what to expect in the lead up to the event. However, we would encourage you to contact us if you have additional questions at any stage.
